Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was left puzzled by the actions of one Manchester United star during Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Fulham.
Manchester United are 16th in the Premier League table after their opening season defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford and the result at Craven Cottage on the weekend.
The Red Devils left Craven Cottage with a single point, despite Ruben Amorim’s United side taking the lead in the second half against Fulham on Sunday.
United were 1-0 up against Fulham after Leny Yoro’s headed effort from a Bryan Mbeumo cross ricocheted off Rodrigo Muniz and beat Bernd Leno after the break.
However, Marco Silva’s men chased after an equaliser and Fulham pulled the scoreline level against United thanks to second-half substitute Emile Smith Rowe.

Gary Neville fully called out Man Utd defender Matthijs de Ligt for one major reason in the Fulham draw
Alex Iwobi fired a dangerous cross into the Manchester United box in the second half and the ball found its way into the path of an onrushing Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith Rowe immediately latched onto the loose ball from Alex Iwobi’s cross and the former Arsenal talent fired a first-time strike past a helpless Altay Bayindir.
Matthijs de Ligt failed to pick up the run of Smith Rowe for the equaliser and Gary Neville was baffled by what the United defender was doing at the near post.
“You can’t say Fulham have not deserved it in this second half, Iwobi has been excellent, but what an introduction by Smith Rowe,” Neville said, as per Sky Sports.
“I do not know what De Ligt is doing at the near post, he thinks it is dealt with and is not sure what is behind him and Smith Rowe just nips in and Bayindir has no chance.”

Gary Neville’s instant reaction to Man Utd’s Premier League performance vs Fulham at Craven Cottage
Speaking on Sky Sports, United legend Neville suggested that the scoreline at Craven Cottage was reflective of the performance from both teams on Sunday.
“Silva and Fulham will be really happy with how they’ve finished their first two Premier League games, they got stronger as the game wore on with their substitutions,” he said.
Neville added: “For Amorim and Man Utd, the optimism of last week has been slightly checked, they missed some really good chances in the first half, [Bruno] Fernandes misses a penalty that altered the course of the game and it could have been so different.
“But they definitely deteriorated in the second half and in the end, a draw was a fair result.”
United’s next outing under Ruben Amorim will be against League Two side Grimsby Town for the second-round Carabao Cup clash at Blundell Park on Wednesday.
