The New York Giants traded up to get Jaxson Dart in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, a move that was polarizing at the time.
Fast forward to today, and while it might be too early to tell, it seems like they may have struck gold.
Former NFL defensive back Domonique Foxworth recently said that the vibes around the Giants are high because Dart has significantly exceeded expectations.
“Jaxson Dart looks as good as you can expect a young quarterback to look in the preseason,” Foxworth said.

Dart was arguably the best rookie quarterback in the preseason, looking poised and in control in the pocket and turning heads with his accuracy and decision-making.
The physical tools and intangibles seemed to be there during his days in college, but he also seemed to be a little raw.
He’s not expected to take the field early in the season, but he’s put himself in legitimate contention for New York’s backup job.
More than that, he looks like he could be the long-term answer for the Giants.
Head coach Brian Daboll has named Russell Wilson the starting quarterback, as expected, yet it’s clear that he’s not much more than a bridge to the QB of the future, whoever that may be.
Dart looks like the real deal, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about him.
