Vikings Insider Reveals What He’s Hearing About Adam Thielen Trade Talks

The Minnesota Vikings could bring back a familiar face.

They’re reportedly trying to add a pass catcher, which is why it made sense that Adam Thielen‘s name popped up.

According to insider Ben Goessling, the Vikings reached out to the Carolina Panthers about the veteran wide receiver and both sides are optimistic about getting a deal done.

“The wide receiver conversation has been going on. They’ve been looking into options at that spot. They have been talking with the Panthers about Adam Thielen for a trade,” Goessling said.

Trade talks between the Panthers and Vikings are "ongoing" still regarding WR Adam Thielen, says @BenGoessling.

Goessling also noted that there's still "a lot of interest" in getting the trade done and Thielen is "excited" about the idea.

Thielen reportedly would be thrilled to head back to Minnesota.

He was homegrown and a fan favorite, and he looked like the type of player who would’ve enjoyed playing his entire career with the same franchise.

Thielen is not the player he was in his heyday, and his production has taken a dip as he has gotten older.

That also has to do with quarterback Bryce Young and the Panthers’ overall offensive struggles.

Yet, even at this point in his career, Thielen could give the Vikings a reliable pair of hands.

He’s familiar with head coach Kevin O’Connell’s offensive system and knows what it takes to thrive next to Justin Jefferson.

He can also make life easier for quarterback J.J. McCarthy in his first full season as a starter.

Even if Thielen can’t put up big numbers, they might only need him to be fresh to start the season, as Jordan Addison will eventually return after serving a three-game suspension.

The veteran can hold down the fort and would love to have an opportunity to retire with the Vikings.
