Warriors reportedly make Buddy Hield sign-and-trade decision, according to NBA Insider

Although the Golden State Warriors have endured arguably the quietest offseason this summer, they have regularly appeared in the news for various reasons.

Last Friday, the Warriors’ 6-foot-4 sharpshooter, Buddy Hield, was among the main topics of the discussion, as Golden State reportedly made a pivotal sign-and-trade decision involving the 32-year-old veteran.

“Sources tell The Stein Line, furthermore, that Golden State has refused this summer to even entertain sign-and-trade scenarios that would require it to surrender either Buddy Hield or Moses Moody because of the limited options currently on the roster in terms of proven shooters not named (Stephen) Curry," The Stein Line’s Jake Fischer stated.

Following a 12.2 points per game showing with the Philadelphia 76ers during the latter part of the 2023-24 season (on 38.9% three-point shooting), Hield was acquired by the Warriors last July.

Some may claim that Hield tricked the Dubs early on, as the Oklahoma product shot 50% from three in October and 41.4% in November before finally cooling off.

Still, Hield finished the year with a 37.0% long-range shooting percentage, helping him show the organization that he can perform at an above-average level from beyond the arc despite experiencing his share of down moments.

Considering Hield is a 39.7% career three-point shooter and can explode from deep when he has the hot hand, it’s safe to say the Warriors made the right decision to keep the former lottery pick out of sign-and-trade discussions.
