AS Roma have confirmed the return of Giulia Dragoni on loan from FC Barcelona. She spent last season with the Italian club as well, making 43 appearances and scoring six goals, including three in the [Women’s Champions League](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-champions-league/): two against Servette and one against OL Lyonnes. Dragoni progressed through Italy’s youth ranks and became the youngest Italian ever to play at a World Cup. She remains under contract with FC Barcelona until 2027.
Dragoni suffered a torn deltoid ligament in her right ankle, which ruled her out of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. She is expected to return to the pitch in September and is fully focused on her recovery: “In a matter of seconds, my season ended suddenly and without warning. Fortunately, the surgery went well. Thank you all so much for the messages. I feel lucky to have such a skilled medical team behind me, and people who care about me and are looking after me. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love the most.”
AS Roma have announced that Shinji Kim will spend next season on loan at Rangers FC. Kim joined Roma from GB Uiduk University, signing a contract through June 2027, and became the first South Korean player in the club’s history. Internationally, she has featured at both the U20 World Cup and the Asian Cup, and received her first senior call-up for the South Korean national team in 2024.
Meanwhile, the club has announced the signing of Annalena Rieke from SGS Essen, where she spent the past three seasons. The midfielder made 68 appearances, scoring 10 goals, and was Essen’s second-highest scorer last season as a key player for the team.
