Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho is being encouraged to join Roma, with reports in Italy claiming there are 'no other offers on the table.'
Sancho, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea, has been frozen out by manager Ruben Amorim. As a result, he was one five players to inform the club of his wish to explore new options.
Out of those five players, only Marcus Rashford has sealed a move away from Old Trafford with just a week left of the summer transfer window. Despite efforts to secure a move, reported interest from clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Juventus has not materialised, leaving Sancho stuck in limbo.
Roma have shown interest in Sancho in recent weeks, but talks have stalled amid suggestions that the England winger is reluctant to make the move to the Italian capital. Roma sporting director Frederic Massara revealed that the United winger lacked 'motivation' over a move to the Serie A.
"Sancho is a strong player who has been linked to all the big Italian teams," he said. "At the moment, he remains a suggestion because I don't think the conditions, especially the motivation, are there to pursue this negotiation."
However, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Sancho has not formally rejected Roma but is said to have 'hesitations' about the move - a stance that is reportedly 'tormenting' the Serie A side.
The report adds that United chief Jason Wilcox is 'desperate' to remove Sancho from the wage bill, with the winger earning around £250,000 per week at Old Trafford. The club is said to have agreed a £15million transfer fee roughly a month ago.
Sancho has reportedly been given until Wednesday to decide on a move to Roma, with the club prepared to turn to alternative targets if he delays further. At present, no other clubs are considering a bid for the former Borussia Dortmund star.
"Sancho never said no to Roma," Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini said after his side's win over Bologna last weekend. "There are [a few] days left. This is a good team, anyway.
"As I said before, there's no end to the worst and the best."
