Manchester United have started the Premier League season in a very weird fashion. While the performances have been promising, they are yet to get their first win of the 2025/26 season.

Ruben Amorim has gotten his team to play a good brand of football, but it counts for nothing if the results don’t come. The Portuguese tactician will be keen to change things around, sooner rather than later.

One player who seems to have lost prominence under Amorim this season, at least from a creative perspective, is Bruno Fernandes. He is being deployed in a deeper role in midfield and is playing as a deep-lying playmaker.

For much of his time at Old Trafford, the #8 has played as an attacking midfielder or even as a false nine on occasion. He has been the team’s sole source of creativity and has scored plenty of goals in every single season.

Now, as per The Sun, the Portuguese international is prepared to agree an exit and join Al-Ittihad this summer, and are set to agree blockbuster terms of around £635,000 a week. That is a significant financial package for Bruno.

Fernandes, who is 30 years old, previously had interest from Al-Hilal. At that time, Bruno did not entertain a move to the SPL, but positive conversations have taken place with Al-Ittihad over a potential transfer and this is something that seems realistic this summer.

Bruno has not seemed at his best in the first couple of games of the campaign. The 30-year-old has a lot of work to do to adapt to the defensive midfield position.

He might feel that this is the right time to jump ship and move elsewhere.

The coming days should provide a clearer picture of what the future holds for Bruno.

If he was to leave this close to the end of the window, Man Utd will have to hunt hard for a replacement and only time will tell how this develops.
