Browns reportedly make trade decision on Shedeur Sanders and Oregon's Dillon Gabriel

Many haven't been too happy with what the Cleveland Browns have done with Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Entering the season, there are still some questions about what the Browns might decide to do with both of their young quarterbacks.

It could lead to a trade for one of them. Sanders could be a starter, as could Gabriel, or other outcomes might occur.

As of now, the Browns have announced that Joe Flacco will start in Week 1, but that doesn't mean plans won't change for everyone else.

Will Browns trade a QB?

-----------------------

However, while there are some questions about what might happen over the next few weeks to months, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that he doesn't expect either Sanders or Gabriel to be traded.

"They're close to finalizing their plans in the quarterback room. They could keep four quarterbacks but today could be a determining factor depending how it goes with the rookies. Joe Flacco will get some reps; they're thinking 20-25 reps for the starters in the third preseason game. Then you go to Dillon Gabriel, who gets the second crack at it. Then you get Shedeur Sanders, he will get some run.

"Kenny Pickett is still hurt, so he's somewhere in this equation but he's been banged up for really the last month. So, the question is, do the Browns carry him on the roster? Do they maybe put him on short-term IR, give him four weeks to start the season. But the feeling right now is they like how Gabriel and Sanders are developing. I don't expect them to trade either one. They're going to roll through the weekend, see what these guys can do. They like what they're doing,” [he said](https://www.on3.com/pro/news/nfl-insider-offers-update-on-shedeur-sanders-dillon-gabriel-browns-plan-at-qb/), per On3.

Gabriel, the former Oregon standout, has played well in parts of the preseason.

He has a learning curve to figure out in the NFL, but that isn't much of his fault.

Going from college to the NFL is tough, even with playing the type of competition he did at Oregon.
