Newcastle owners Pif 'visit Alexander Isak's home and offer sulking striker new contract'

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has reportedly been visited at his home by the club’s co-owner Jamie Reuben and a PIF delegation and have offered him a new contract if he agrees to commit himself to the club for another season. The Sweden star took aim at the Magpies in a statement last week after telling club chiefs he had no intention to play for the team again.

Newcastle turned down a £110million bid from Liverpool for Isak earlier this summer, with the Reds yet to return with an improved offer ahead of the summer transfer deadline. Isak missed his team’s tour to the Far East earlier this summer and has been training alone as he pushes for an exit. And he hasn’t featured in either of Newcastle’s opening two Premier League games of the campaign, with the Magpies going head-to-head with Liverpool at St James’ Park on Monday evening.

According to the Daily Mail, Reuben and Newcastle director Jacobo Solis travelled to Isak’s home in Northumberland ahead of the Magpies’ clash with Liverpool.

The north east giants want Isak to return to training and make himself available to play matches.

And a new contract would be part of the discussions if Isak agrees to stay for the current campaign.
