Another player has learned his fate with the Philadelphia Eagles as he is no longer on the roster.
The Philadelphia inquirer's Jeff McLane shared that sources have told him that former undrafted free agent cornerback Eli Ricks has been waived from the team. Ricks was entering his third season with the Eagles after previously not being drafted by them out of Alabama.
#Eagles are waiving CB Eli Ricks, NFL sources said.
Ricks, formerly undrafted, played in 23 games for the Birds in his first two seasons. Numbers game gets him this time around, although a return to the practice squad is possible.

In 23 career games, Ricks racked up 21 tackles and three pass deflections. Last season, Ricks only played in seven contests with the Eagles.
Surprise to see Ricks there and what now for the Eagles' secondary?
Ricks had been a nice story for the Eagles, having been on the roster for the last two years. He was more known for his work on special teams in return coverage, but was able to help out on defense.
Some saw Ricks as a potential candidate to compete for the CB2 job, but that ultimately came down to a decision between Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo. With rookie Mac McWilliams and Jakorian Bennett being added to the roster, that might have hurt Ricks' chances of making the final roster.
Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are the locks at cornerback and all signs have pointed towards Jackson being the new starting CB2. Ringo still feels like he will make the team, but could be a trade candidate down the road. McWilliams is set to play a bigger role at corner than the team expected. Bennett should be fine, but does Parry Nickerson have any fighting chance to make the roster after his interception against the New York Jets?
