Opinion: Yves Bissouma update has made his next destination so obvious as Everton and West Ham…

Everton have just one week to get their final deals of the summer over the line.

Angus Kinnear will be hard at work back at Finch Farm, with the summer transfer window coming to an end next Monday.

There were plenty of positives for David Moyes to take from the first victory of the season in the Hill Dickinson Stadium opener.

Everton are closing in on signing Tyler Dibling, with the 19-year-old undergoing his medical on Monday ahead of the move.

Work still needs to be done, with Everton also urged to make changes to their defence before next week’s deadline.

There is one midfielder reportedly on Everton’s radar who is now being sought after by a Premier League rival.

West Ham plotting move for Everton target Yves Bissouma

It has been suggested that Everton are eyeing Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma before the deadline next week.

The Mali midfielder is, however, on the radar of other Premier League sides who could look to beat Everton to his signature.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, West Ham are now exploring a move for Bissouma.

Although it is claimed a number of clubs are showing an interest, it was only the Hammers credited in the report by O’Rourke.

However, there may be one big advantage for West Ham, with Bissouma having previously worked under Graham Potter.

There is a belief that Tottenham want around £12m to sell Bissouma before next Monday’s deadline.

Bissouma has not played for Tottenham this season, following a disciplinary suspension from his manager, Thomas Frank.

Graham Potter’s Yves Bissouma relationship could hurt Everton

It would appear as if Bissouma’s time in north London could be coming to an end, with Frank already sharing his concerns about the midfielder.

Everton want to sign another midfielder, and Bissouma is a player who has been strongly linked with a move to Merseyside.

But the lure of staying in London and playing under his former manager could prove a real issue for Everton.

“The best Bissouma can play in the Champions League, absolutely. He’s got that quality, those attributes you need at that level. It’s about being consistent,” Potter said back in 2021.

There is a lot of history between the pair, and Bissouma could well put his trust in Potter to get him back to his best.

He is not the only former manager looking to land the midfielder, with Jose Mourinho also said to be keen on Bissouma before the deadline.

Everton could well be up against it if they are to convince Bissouma to make the move up north.
