West Ham’s season has got off to a dreadful start and things only seem to be getting worse on the transfer front.
The 5-1 defeat at the hands of London rivals Chelsea was yet another moment to forget in Graham Potter’s reign as manager of the Hammers.
West Ham fans flooded to exit the London Stadium as Chelsea capitalised on what can only be described as atrocious defending.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Mads Hermansen were arguably the worst two players in what was a terrible team display, but a new update regarding Tottenham and Daniel Levy will give West Ham supporters more reasons to be angry.

Daniel Levy wants to bring Lucas Paqueta to Spurs
Following Paqueta’s screamer against Chelsea, his celebration appeared to show the Brazilian’s intent to stay at West Ham.

Despite this, the Brazilian’s future is seemingly still up in the air, with Aston Villa interested in the 27-year-old.
However, according to reports from the Daily Mail on August 25, Tottenham are another club interested in securing Paqueta’s signature, with Spurs missing out on both Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze.
Given the horrific ACL injury that James Maddison picked up in pre-season, it would make sense for Spurs to recruit a new attacking midfielder.
Following the signing of Mohammed Kudus earlier in the summer, Paqueta could follow him to North London.

West Ham fans would riot if another key player joins Spurs
Given how underwhelming their transfer window has been so far, West Ham cannot afford to let another key player leave and especially if they join Spurs.
With just under a week remaining in the transfer window, the Hammers would surely not have enough time to replace the Brazilian playmaker, especially considering how slow they have operated throughout the rest of the summer.
Certain sections of the fanbase fear that they could be in a relegation battle this season, but if Paqueta leaves, it will be hard to find a supporter who does not share this opinion.
The fact that he would be joining Spurs would just be the final kick in the teeth for West Ham fans, who are set to endure a nervy end to the window.
