Marseille are finalizing a deal with Emerson Palmieri (31) for the Italy international left-back to join Les Phocéens, according to L’Equipe. The former Chelsea full-back is expected to agree to a contract termination with West Ham United before joining Roberto De Zerbi’s squad as a free agent. Emerson Palmieri is set to sign a two-year deal with Marseille.

The outlet adds that Marseille previously considered a loan move for Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas. Marseille are in the market for a left-back after parting ways with Quentin Merlin, who joined Ligue 1 rivals Rennes. Palmieri, who has entered the final months of his contract, would make his return to Ligue 1 after spending the 2021-2022 season at Lyon on loan from Chelsea FC.
