Manchester United heads coach Ruben Amorim will hope to see his side improve when they face League Two side Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Red Devils have struggled in their opening two Premier League matches, following up a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal with a 1-1 draw against Fulham on Sunday.
Those two results have left United 16th in the Premier League table, but the game against Grimsby may give them the chance to return to winning ways.
In the meantime, it appears that one member of Amorim’s squad is close to completing a move to Italy.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Serie A champions Napoli are in advanced talks with Man United about a move for striker Rasmus Hojlund.
He claims that the Italian giants are in talks to sign the Dane on an initial loan move, with an option-to-buy clause included that will become an obligation for the Serie A side to sign Hojlund permanently.

The 22-year-old joined United from Serie A side Atalanta back in 2023 but has since struggled in England.
In total the Denmark international has scored 26 goals in 95 games for the Red Devils across all competitions, but Romano claims that the Manchester club are willing to allow the player to leave this summer.
Hojlund hasn’t been involved in either of United’s two Premier League matches so far this season, following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko from German side RB Leipzig.
Romano claims that current Napoli boss Antonio Conte is pushing to sign the Danish striker, with discussions between the Italian side and Hojlund’s representatives about personal terms having taken place on Monday.
Hojlund is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it appears he could be on his way out of the club before the end of the month.
