Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly facing the likelihood of missing out on Getafe attacker Christanus Uche.
Having failed to win a single pre-season fixture, Wolves have started the new Premier League campaign with defeats to Manchester City and Bournemouth.
Vitor Pereira has witnessed his side fail to score in either match at a time when he remains keen to add to his options in the final third.
Although Wolves are currently rejecting interest from Newcastle United in Jorgen Strand Larsen, they are eager to sign at least one new player for their attack.
Reports have indicated that a deal is in place to sign Uche and the player was initially interested in making the switch to Molineux.

Wolves facing Uche frustration
However, according to journalist Eduardo Burgos, who was commenting on X, Uche has changed his mind over making the switch to the Premier League.
Despite documents having been signed by both Wolves and Getafe, the Nigeria international has been left unhappy with how negotiations have been handled.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes has played a role in facilitating the transfer, something that has seemingly annoyed the 22-year-old.
Getafe's president insisted on Monday night that Uche is highly likely to depart the La Liga outfit, a consequence of the club needing to raise funds.
Uche - who can play as a number 10 or centre-forward - is the club's biggest asset having contributed five goals and seven assists from his 34 outings in Spain's top flight since his arrival last year.

Time for Wolves to move on...again?
As much as Wolves need additions to the first-team squad, supporters will not want a player who is in two minds over joining the club.
A similar scenario is already playing out with Girona defender Ladislav Krejci, who played for his current team on Sunday despite a deal in the region of £26m being agreed.
Wolves currently face spending in the region of £45m on a duo who are yet to be 100% convinced that Wolves are the best choice for them.
Furthermore, the longer that transfers are not finalised, other interest could materialise, as has been the case with other Wolves targets this summer.
