Broncos have waived WR Jerjuan Newton

According to Mike Klis of 9News, the Denver Broncos have waived wide receiver Jerjuan Newton. The undrafted rookie from Toledo signed in 2025, bringing explosive receiving skills after setting school records in his final college season.

Jerjuan Newton went undrafted in 2025 out of the University of Toledo, where he holds the career receiving touchdowns record, capping his time with first-team All-MAC honors in 2024 after 72 receptions for 1,048 yards and 11 touchdowns, averaging 14.6 yards per catch. Over six seasons and 63 games, he totaled 206 catches for 2,942 yards and 32 scores, plus return contributions. The Broncos signed him as a free agent for wideout depth, eyeing his route-running and hands.

In his rookie offseason, Newton competed in camp and preseason, flashing at times in practice. At 5-11 and 192 pounds, he is a smaller frame guy. As Klis noted, he showed his talent a bit and could be a guy they look at potentially targeting for their practice squad once the waiver period concludes.
