Rio Ngumoha became Liverpool’s hero and helped them take home all three points.
Newcastle vs the Reds was always set up to be one for the ages due to the Alexander Isak situation, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Largely against the run of play, Liverpool took a two-goal lead, only to let this slip and be pegged back to 2-2.
The Magpies looked the most likely to get the winner despite playing with 10 men, but then Ngumoha came on and netted the winner.
As seen already, pressure does not seem to get to him, and when he was given his chance, he more than took it.
After becoming Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer, many might think he is guaranteed to get more game time, and Thierry Henry has given his verdict on the matter.

Thierry Henry still thinks it’s too early for Rio Ngumoha
The Reds have had an excellent summer in terms of transfer business and despite earning a lot of money through sales, it might have left them a bit short of options.
The attack is where they feel the most thin, hence why Ngumoha is relatively high up the pecking order, although it might have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

With that being said, however, Henry still thinks it might be a little soon for the teenager to become a regular fixture in the team.
“Composure, the ball is coming on the ground, Szoboszlai knows he’s there, it bounces a bit and then he guides it, he does guide it and then you can enjoy it,” Henry said live on Sky Sports.

“The ball is inviting and you’re also coming the right way, everything is perfect for you to hit the target and score. He could have missed it.
“But you know what I liked about him, he was looking to get one-v-one as soon as he came on, one-v-three even, he didn’t care, he took the ball. Desire, will and he got his reward at the end.
“It’s a bit early [for him to play], but I’m very happy for him. He looked like a player who’s been playing for a long time, how composed he was. I loved the celebration.”

There is no doubting Ngumoha’s quality and he has proven that once again, with this goal having many meanings behind it.
Not only was it the winner, but it means he is only the second 16-year-old to score a winning goal in a Premier League game, with the player being Wayne Rooney.
Rooney netted the winner for Everton against Arsenal in 2002, with Ngumoha just one day younger than what Rooney was when he scored that goal.
If omens are anything to go by, this is certainly a good sign for the Reds, and they might just have the next big talent on their hands.
