The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets met in the first round of the playoffs last season. It was an intense seven-game series that saw the second-seeded Rockets fall to an experienced Warriors team.

Tensions ran high, and seemed to have remained that way with the latest drama that has ensued between the two West teams.

In a recent appearance on the Socrates Dergi podcast, Rockets center Alperen Şengün criticized the Warriors for constantly complaining about foul calls.

"They're a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot," Şengün said. "In the playoffs, they don't call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called."

Green, who's earned a reputation for being outspoken, responded to Şengün's criticism of the team he's played with over the last 12 seasons.

"That's a tough thing to say after you lose...You have to win stuff like that," Green wrote.

Once Green responded to Şengün's remarks, no Rockets players said anything further on the situation. However, Tari Eason's mother chose to say her piece.

"Oh Dear, now it's war," she wrote.

Once again, Green replied and didn't hold back.

"They gone come out playing hard as hell!......In a regular season game," Green wrote on social media. "Somebody tell Mama Eason, she said it was war before they took the L."

The Warriors will face the Rockets on Nov. 26 for their first regular-season matchup of the season. However, Houston will look very different this time around.

The Rockets will begin the 2025-26 season with one of the biggest faces of the NBA in Kevin Durant, who previously played for the Warriors and won two NBA championships with the organization.

The Phoenix Suns traded Durant on the final day of the season to the Rockets, which immediately put the young squad as contenders in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have not made any moves in free agency this summer. The team has been heavily linked to All-Star Al Horford, but a deal has yet to transpire.

Regardless, it appears the Warriors' first regular season matchup with the Rockets will be fiery.
