Crystal Palace have reportedly submitted a transfer bid for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.
The 30-year-old appears to have fallen to the fringes of the Man City squad in the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign.
Akanji was an unused substitute for the opening day win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, before he was left out of the squad altogether for Saturday's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The defender has ultimately seen his Man City future called into question, with Turkish giants Galatasaray believed to be among his potential suitors.
**Akanji is keen to stay at the Etihad Stadium**beyond the end of the transfer window, but he may have to consider a move if he is to enjoy regular playing time this season.

Palace submit Akanji bid
According to The Sun, Crystal Palace are willing to offer Akanji a way out of Man City before the market closes on September 1.
The report claims that the Eagles have already made an 'ambitious' bid to prise Akanji away from Pep Guardiola's side.
Palace have supposedly tabled a £15m offer for a player who has entered the final two years of his Man City contract.
The Eagles are looking to make a strong finish to the transfer window, having added just two new players to their squad this summer in the form of goalkeeper Walter Benitez and left-back Borna Sosa.

Could Akanji replace Guehi?
There is a possibility that Palace could view Akanji as a candidate to replace captain Marc Guehi.
The Eagles will be reluctant to lose another key member of Oliver Glasner's squad following Eberechi Eze's recent £67.5m move to Arsenal.
However, they will also be aware that they risk losing Guehi on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.
Liverpool are among the clubs that have been linked with the England international, although they are yet to reach an agreement with Palace over a transfer.
