At Liverpool, Scott and Marcus Tavernier, along with Tyler Adams, formed more of a midfield three to match up with the Reds’ lineup.
But against Wolves, the young Englishman dropped to alongside Adams, while Tavernier operated in the higher number 10 role.
Scott told the Daily Echo after the Liverpool match that he was relishing the competition for places in midfield and the need to be able to operate in a number of different positions.
He spoke to the Daily Echo again after Wolves, and said: “That's the main thing, being flexible.
“Obviously me and Tav swapped again today and it's important for me to play each different position to a high level.
“I feel like I had a decent game today, did what I could. It was good to play as an 8, you can get on the ball as much as I can and keep things ticking really, and that's something that I like to do and it's probably one of my main attributes.
“So, it was good today to get on the ball, keep things playing and I probably should have scored a couple today.
“Had a shot when I went down trying to get a penalty which wasn't good from me. But a good performance and happy for the three points.”
Scott also praised the side’s defensive showing, after conceding four at Liverpool.
“It was good, especially last week, obviously conceding four goals, we probably didn't deserve to concede four last week,” he said.
“But like I said, [it was] important to come here today, three points, a clean sheet.
“The defence were brilliant again and that comes from the front lads as well, non-stop throughout the game.
“So, important for us to get the clean sheet. I think to a man we were brilliant pressing today and defensively as well.”
