Rio Ngumoha became a star for Liverpool after scoring the winner against Newcastle United.
The Reds were involved in a gruelling game at St James’ Park. They really struggled with the intensity at times, but they still went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Hugo Ekitike.
It looked like there was no way back for Newcastle, especially as they were down to 10 men following Anthony Gordon’s red card. But, goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Will Osula levelled the game.
In the 96th minute, Arne Slot decided to bring on Ngumoha, and just four minutes later, the 16-year-old scored the winner.
Max Dowman hails Rio Ngumoha after Liverpool beat Newcastle United
The feeling around football right now is that Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman is the best youngster in the Premier League.
The 15-year-old has been amazing at youth level, and he showed off his quality during the Gunners’ pre-season tour as well.
To add to that, Dowman made his Premier League debut against Leeds United on Saturday, and he looked excellent.
The Arsenal teenager is destined to become a superstar in the coming years, but Liverpool have a player who can reach those heights too – Rio Ngumoha.
The 16-year-old showed incredible composure to score the winner in the 110th minute at one of the most difficult away grounds in the country.
Ngumoha is the reason why Liverpool won the game on Monday night, and Dowman appears to have been impressed with him.
On his Instagram Story, the Arsenal wonderkid reposted a picture of Ngumoha celebrating his goal and wrote: “The best”

Rio Ngumoha has proved one thing to Arne Slot
Ngumoha impressed everyone during Liverpool’s pre-season.
The teenager was excellent almost every time he played, and Reds fans had been hoping to see more of him this season.
However, Slot didn’t give Ngumoha a minute against either Crystal Palace in the Community Shield or Bournemouth in their Premier League opener.
Now, after getting an opportunity and scoring the winner against Newcastle, Ngumoha has shown Slot that he is ready for more game time.
Yes, the youngster will have to be protected and the Liverpool boss will know that, but you can’t keep such a big talent on the sidelines for far too long, especially after what he did on Monday night.
