Chelsea trio called up to Brazil national team

The first international break of the season is coming up after next weekend, and as much as that means even more minutes, travel, fatigue, and chances of injuries for many of our players, it’s also nice to see this young squad of ours starting to become more important for their respective national teams as well.

Case in point are Brazil, where new head coach Carlo Ancelotti has called up three players from the team he once managed with great success.

Neither of João Pedro, Andrey Santos, or Estêvão are actually new to the selection — they have a combined ten caps so far, with half of those courtesy of the youngest of the three — but there’s a good chance that they can become mainstays of the team in a World Cup year with continued involvement (and success) at Chelsea.

Brazil have already qualified for next summer’s tournament, so they can use these games against Chile and Bolivia to start figuring out their final squad.
