Leeds United have had a mixed start to the season following their return to the Premier League, as they aim to avoid relegation.
All three promoted sides have gone straight back down to the Championship in the last two seasons, but Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland will all hope to end this trend.
The trio have all recorded one win and one defeat each so far, with Leeds beating Everton at Elland Road before losing 5-0 away at Arsenal, while Sunderland thrashed West Ham before losing to Burnley.
Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer has now given his verdict on the relegation battle, and has admitted that Leeds fans could have a big say in who goes down.
Alan Shearer claims Elland Road atmosphere can keep Leeds up
Shearer has now praised Leeds and Sunderland fans despite his allegiance to Newcastle, and has claimed their home form at Elland Road can keep them in the Premier League.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Shearer stated that defeats such as Leeds’ loss to Arsenal are not a problem if they manage to win most of their home games against the teams around their level.
“It’s no surprise that all three of them have won at home, Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley,” Shearer stated.
“That’s going to be key isn’t it, particularly at Sunderland and Elland Road because of how crazy those fans are. That will be key to them – how they get on in their home games.
“Leeds are not going to be judged away to Arsenal. They have pick up points at home, and get the odd draw away from home, and that’s how one of them can stay up.”
Leeds’ home record can keep them in Premier League
Leeds had a very strong home record at Elland Road in the Championship last season, losing just one of their 23 matches.
Elland Road is famous for its raucous atmosphere, and this has already played a part as Leeds beat Everton in their opening day fixture at home.
While there were questionable decisions from Daniel Farke in the 5-0 defeat at Arsenal, these heavy losses against the title contenders can be forgotten about quickly if Leeds are able to secure points at home against the sides more likely to be closer to them in the table.
