Manchester United have a number of players they are looking to move on before the transfer window shuts
Manchester United have less than a week to complete transfer exits for several players as they look to trim Ruben Amorim’s squad heading into the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.
United’s financial situation means the club do need to sell a number of players in the next six days to help balance the books after they missed out on European football. Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan with an option to buy, with the forward’s full wages covered to save United around £14m. However, the likes of Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho remain at the club.
Rasmus Hojlund exit could be sealed soon
“Loan with an option to buy, to become mandatory under certain conditions, like qualification to Champions League, goals, presence of the player, appearances, so several things to clarify, but Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli is advancing and could be a here we go very soon.
“So, negotiations underway for that one, keep an eye on that story because it's an interesting one for the next hours, but Hojlund could leave Manchester United very soon.”
Hojlund has not been in the squad for either of United’s opening two games, with the Danish international looking surplus to requirements following the arrival of Sesko.
While a loan does not help the Red Devils as much as a permanent exit, agreeing a conditional obligation to buy will raise hopes of sealing a permanent exit next summer.
Hojlund had been linked with a move to AC Milan and Fulham but Napoli are in pole position to get a deal done. The Serie A side have been in the market for a new striker this summer with previous interest shown in Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool and Napoli were unable to agree a transfer fee for the Uruguayan with the player instead making the move to the Saudi Pro League. It could stand to benefit the Red Devils as they hope to offload Hojlund before the window shuts.
