LeBron James' camp realizes trade unlikely due to multiple reasons

Lebron James' camp understands that a trade is highly unlikely given his age, massive salary, and contractual veto power.

Despite the trade rumors that followed after he picked up his player option this offseason, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is expected to stay with the team next season.

The Golden State Warriors reportedly made multiple calls to the Lakers, hoping to pair James with Stephen Curry, but Los Angeles is not interested in their potential package centered around Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Kuminga.

James' camp also understands the difficulty of any potential deal.

"It has been radio silent since James, via his agent Rich Paul, attempted to rattle the Lakers' cages immediately after exercising his $52.6 million player option for this season," ESPN's Tim MacMahon wrote.

"The all-time leading scorer and his camp understand just how complicated a trade involving him — at his age, making that much money, with the contractual right to veto any deal — would be," the NBA insider added.

At 40 years old, any team acquiring James would be making a win-now move. He is entering the final year of his contract and will earn $52.6 million next season.
