Jack Grealish has made a strong start to life at Everton as he provided both goals in their 2-0 win over Brighton.

Grealish’s career looked to be going pear-shaped during his time at Manchester City, with his gametime beginning to dwindle last season.

The attacker has been unable to find his form since leaving Aston Villa, but David Moyes appears to have given Grealish more freedom on Merseyside.

Moyes has a history of reviving players’ careers, as he did with Jesse Lingard at West Ham, and his man management is beginning to impress many in the football world.

On the opening weekend of the Premier League season, Everton slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Leeds United.

However, on Sunday, Everton bounced back with a 2-0 win over Brighton, with Grealish making all the difference after grabbing two assists.

His performance earned him a place in Troy Deeney’s Team of the Week, and the former Watford striker has given high praise for the Blues forward.

Deeney wrote on BBC Sport: “Jack was fantastic.

Grealish’s stats vs Brighton

“It was great to see him smiling, great to see him playing with freedom, aspiring to try and get to this situation where Everton gave him the ball on all occasions and when he’s there and he’s playing and delivering like he did, it was great to see him take somebody on as well.

“Two assists on the day. Him playing well is not only good for him but also England.”

The ultimate goal for Grealish is to return to the England squad, and so far, Moyes is putting him on the right track.

He looked a class above against Brighton, and he did something that had only been achieved once before for Everton.

No one expected that, having been in and out of football for so long, Grealish would assist two on his return.

In doing so, he became just the second Everton player ever to provide two goals on their debut.

The only other time that has been achieved was by Lucas Neill in 2009.

The Australian provided in a 3-2 loss to Bolton that year, and only went on to play 12 games for the Toffees.

Everton supporters will be hoping they see plenty more of Grealish, with a buy option reportedly in the contract.
