The Golden State Warriors have had a rough offseason thus far as they continue to search for players to bring in to upgrade their rotation.

Of course, the Warriors continue to deal with the ongoing situation involving restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga which has cost them multiple free agent targets.

As Kuminga continues to decide on his future either with the Warriors or with another franchise, Golden State is running out of options to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green as they try to chase a championship this season.

While Golden State has failed to sign anyone in free agency, it has been reported that they have multiple deals in place that will be finalized after Kuminga’s situation is resolved.

The Warriors are also still searching the free agent market to add more talent to their roster and they could be a potential landing spot for one of the top free agents still on the board after a recent report.

Warriors could show interest in Malik Beasley

According to NBA insider Keith Smith, the Warriors could get involved in the Malik Beasley sweepstakes, though it would be complicated due to Kuminga’s situation and the fact they they need to fill multiple open roster spots.

Of course, Beasley has yet to sign in free agency as teams were awaiting news regarding the investigation into him caused by gambling allegations.

It was reported late last week that Beasley was no longer being investigated and now multiple teams have begun to show interest in the veteran guard.

Beasley is coming off an impressive season with the Detroit Pistons where he averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 43.0% from the field and 41.6% from three.

The 28-year-old finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting as well last season and finished behind only Anthony Edwards for the most three-pointers made in the entire NBA.

If the Warriors were to pursue Beasley, adding him alongside Curry in the backcourt would create a new “Splash Brothers” that could help the Warriors contend for a title this season.

Despite this, Golden State may be forced to look elsewhere due to their lack of cap space, especially since they need to fill multiple open roster spots heading into the 2025-26 season.
