Liverpool added yet another three points to their Premier League tally after they beat Newcastle 3-2 on Monday evening.
The Reds were the worst team on the night by a country mile and, to be honest, with the way they were playing, they’d have been lucky to even get a point from the Premier League clash.
Arne Slot’s men were constantly on the back foot, with Ryan Gravenberch’s opener just a massive stroke of luck.

Indeed, the main thing that matters is that all three points are coming back to Anfield, but it’s abundantly clear that something is missing from Slot’s first-team squad.
Bruno Guimaraes believes the game between Liverpool and Newcastle was ‘not fair’
One thing that was evident throughout the entire game was that Eddie Howe’s men were playing with some fire in their bellies.
The ongoing Alexander Isak transfer saga has clearly taken its toll on the Magpies, and although no movement has occurred in the Reds’ chase over the last couple of days, now that their clash at St James’ Park is over, more negotiations could take place.
However, it wasn’t that part of the game that Bruno Guimaraes believed was “not fair.”
Taking to his personal X account after the game, the Brazilian midfielder gave his thoughts on how the game between Liverpool and Newcastle panned out.

“Mixed feelings. We will never give up under any circumstances. We deserved more, but many times football is not fair,” he wrote.
“We stick together. There is still a lot ahead, and your support will always be fundamental. Howay the lads.”
Liverpool must sign some players before the transfer window slams shut
Although Slot and Richard Hughes have already spent a hefty chunk of change on improving Liverpool’s ranks this summer, it still feels like more needs to be done.
Indeed, their attacking line has had a massive makeover, but defensively, it feels like they’re all over the shop.
Of course, the likes of Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez both still need to settle in, but with the way things seem to be panning out, Slot needs a replacement for Ibrahima Konate.
The Frenchman has been well below par since the 2025-26 season kicked off, with Chris Sutton even saying he had a “stinker” against the Magpies on Monday evening.

There are now fewer than seven days left in the transfer window, and if no further additions are made to Liverpool’s squad before it closes, the Reds could be in for a rude awakening this season.
That is, especially when AFCON comes around.
