Nottingham Forest 'pushing' to sign star with more assists than Ousmane Dembele in 24/25 -…

Nottingham Forest have been busy in the transfer market and it would appear that the spending isn’t over yet.

The Reds have already landed eight new faces this summer, with Nuno Espirito Santo reiterating his need for more players after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Dominic Livakovic has been linked with Forest, with another goalkeeper fancied by Espirito Santo, whilst two new full-backs are also required at the City Ground.

Omari Hutchinson signed for Forest from Ipswich before the season started, with James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo signing shortly after.

Last week, Forest finally signed Douglas Luiz following a long chase and now, more new players look set to walk through the door on Trentside.

Nottingham Forest pushing to sign Dilane Bakwa

According to John Percy, Forest are now pushing hard to sign Bakwa, with Leeds United and Sunderland both thought to still be in the race.

The Strasbourg player is valued at around £33 million, with Forest seeing a bid of around £27 million with add-ons rejected by the Ligue 1 outfit.

Forest are going to push hard to get the deal over the line this week, however, as the club looks to finalise the squad and attempt to convince Espirito Santo not to walk away from the club.

MORE FOREST STORIES

Bakwa is left-footed and last season he scored six goals and claimed nine assists as Strasbourg enjoyed a solid season under Liam Rosenior, qualifying for the UEFA Conference League.

Bakwa registered more assists than some top players last season in France, most notably Ousmane Dembele, who won the Champions League with PSG and is a contender for the Ballon d’Or.

Bakwa would complete forward options at Forest

With Hutchinson and Bakwa capable of playing on the right and Dan Ndoye and Callum Hudson-Odoi seemingly better suited to playing on the left, Forest would have options galore.

Bakwa is only 23-years-old and has bags of potential, with his physical presence likely to separate him from any of the club’s other wingers at this moment in time.

Having too many good players is never a bad thing but Espirito Santo will have some serious rotating to do when it comes to domestic and European action this season.

With the cup competitions also on the horizon, there should be plenty of game time for all of the attacking players and this is surely now entering the realms of being the best ever squad the club has ever seen.
