Mikel Arteta has hinted at more signings
Arsenal's summer signings have aided Mikel Arteta and his team in making an ideal start to the new season. However, things could be set to improve even further.
Eberechi Eze was introduced ahead of Saturday's 5-0 triumph over Leeds, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring his first Premier League goals in the resounding victory. There were a few injury concerns, but neither Martin Odegaard nor Bukayo Saka are anticipated to be sidelined for too long.
Transfer deadline day falls on 1 September, with Arsenal facing reigning champions Liverpool just one day before. The result at Anfield could influence whether Arteta and transfer chief Andrea Berta feel more action is needed at the last minute.
A series of sales could still be in the pipeline, and some departures might occur alongside new arrivals. One player who now appears set to stay, however, is Leandro Trossard - who agreed to an enhanced contract despite interest from overseas. Here, Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Arsenal transfer news.
Late Hincapie swoop

Arsenal are gearing up to make a late offer for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie. The Ecuador international is thought to be available for £55m and there has even been speculation he could move for less.
Some reports suggest that Arsenal could be swooping in on their rivals Tottenham to sign the 23-year-old, just days after beating them for Eze's signature. However, Spurs have refuted claims of making contact with Leverkusen over Hincapie.
Leverkusen have seen a number of their senior players depart since Xabi Alonso stepped down as manager, with Erik ten Hag now at the helm. Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have both made the switch to Liverpool, while Granit Xhaka and Amine Adli have also moved to the Premier League.

Arsenal and Porto are reportedly set for another round of discussions over Jakub Kiwior, according to Portuguese reports (via Sport Witness). So far, it seems Porto would take the defender on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
However, they're not the only ones interested. Crystal Palace have also been linked, with suggestions that a permanent deal from the Eagles was never dependent on the terms of Eze's move in the opposite direction.
Kiwior, who signed for Arsenal from Spezia in January 2023, has also been linked with a return to Serie A. Italian clubs seemed to prefer straight loan deals, which could ultimately see him move elsewhere.

Hayden, a Jamaican international, featured in 17 league matches for the Rs during his loan spell in the 2023-24 season. Since then, Julien Stephan has taken the managerial reins and had fruitful discussions with the new recruit.
"It was special to have the conversation with Christian (CEO Christian Nourry) and the head coach in terms of them wanting me back at the club," Hayden shared with the club's media team. "I had a few options to go abroad, but it was one of those where if I was going to stay in the Championship, it was only going to be one club and I'm just glad to get it done."
