Hours after Portuguese media linked Brazilian starlet Isaque with Liverpool, the teenager is on his way to Ukraine instead.
**[Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/fluminense/noticia/2025/08/24/fluminense-encaminha-venda-de-isaque-para-o-shakhtar-donetsk.ghtml)** report that Fluminense have agreed to sell the 18-year-old attacking midfielder to Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth €12m (£10.1m). The clubs reached an agreement over the weekend, with only the payment schedule left to sort. Isaque has already said his goodbyes to teammates.
The deal includes €10m (£8.4m) fixed, while Fluminense keep 10% of a future sale. To make it happen, both the player’s camp and the club cut down their slices of the pie, leaving the Rio de Janeiro side with roughly €10.4m (£8.7m), plus the resale percentage and a clause of preference if he ever returns to Brazil.
The news landed just hours after **[A Bola in Portugal](https://www.abola.pt/noticias/liverpool-ja-sinalizou-o-proximo-bobby-firmino-2025082404203972145?srsltid=AfmBOoq3767zY5fCwTc3CtZ4YrqLZYtwMDCssLKGvTuNcx1h0Xq0DK1t)** said Liverpool were keeping tabs on him, even drawing comparisons with Roberto Firmino. Globo then confirmed both the Reds and Manchester City made enquiries, but nothing concrete came from England.
Isaque broke into Fluminense’s first team at the back end of 2024, playing 11 games, but competition got tougher after new senior signings arrived. Shakhtar had already seen two lower bids turned down before their third was finally accepted.
Last year, the youngster has spoken about his dream of one day playing in the Premier League, saying _“if I have the opportunity, I would love to shine there.”_ For now, his next step is Ukraine. What comes after that is still open.
