Wolves fans are nervously awaiting the outcome of the Jorgen Strand Larsen saga, after Newcastle United saw a bid rejected on Monday.
Newcastle saw a £50 million bid for Strand Larsen rejected for the Norwegian, as they seek to bolster their squad in the final days of the window.
Wolves don’t want to sell Jorgen Strand Larsen, and see him as crucial for the 2025/26 season. The club also don’t believe they’d be able to land a suitable replacement at this point in the window.
It was claimed Wolves now intend to offer Strand Larsen a new contract to fend off Newcastle’s interest once and for all.
But whether Strand Larsen will sign it is another question.
Newcastle are expected to return with another offer, and former player turned journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft has made a worrying claim.

Wolves were said to believe Newcastle couldn’t present an acceptable offer for Strand Larsen, which was a positive update.
However, former Norway international striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, who now works as a pundit, reporter and journalist, has made a worrying claim about Newcastle’s next bid for Strand Larsen.

Re: Jørgen Strand Larsen
Newcastle saw a £50m bid rejected yesterday by Woves, but I still expect this deal to go through.
Another offer is imminent, and I’m told it should be enough to make Jørgen a Newcastle player.

A worrying claim that could seal Wolves’ fate this season
Newcastle were expected to come back in with another offer for Strand Larsen and now we wait to see how much money will be put on the table.
Fjortoft seems confident that the sum will be enough to prise Strand Larsen away from Molineux, so it could be a very large offer.
And it would be nothing short of a major blow for Wolves to lose their number nine, if this transfer does come to pass.
Having already lost Matheus Cunha, for Wolves to lose their next best source of goals is a catastrophe, and something that could put the club’s Premier League status in jeopardy.
If this sale is actually signed off, there surely has to be a player coming in, otherwise it is utter negligence.
