FC Porto have been working with Arsenal to try and secure a move for Jakub Kiwior this summer.
At the weekend, we covered multiple claims from Portugal that the Dragons were set to have a new meeting with Arsenal for Kiwior. A Bola were confident a deal was on the way.
The Primeira Liga club planned to sign the Arsenal player on loan with an obligation to buy set at over €20m. That’s according to Tuesday’s edition of O Jogo, and they report Porto are waiting for the Gunners to make their final decision.
Mikel Arteta’s side initially requested €30m when Porto approached them in July.
The Poland international has dropped down the pecking order and his situation is unlikely to improve. He’s in search of regular minutes and is prioritising a move away from the Emirates.
Porto can offer him that and also an opportunity to play alongside his compatriot, Jan Bednarek. They value Kiwior a lot and therefore, are making a ‘significant’ investment to sign him.
Arsenal have accepted Porto’s proposal for the Pole if the latest from A Bola is to be believed. It’s claimed Kiwior will arrive in Portugal today for a medical and to sign his contract.
A Bola are also reporting he will join Porto on loan with a mandatory purchase option. The Gunners will earn around €25m from the loan fee and purchase obligation.
