Crystal Palace have made an official offer for Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji, journalist Kostas Lianos has revealed.
The Selhurst Park side have reportedly tabled an ambitious £15m bid, including bonuses, for the Switzerland international, who could be lined up as a potential replacement for captain Marc Guehi.
The England international could depart Palace before the deadline, with less than a year left on his contract, amid long-standing interest from reigning Premier League champions Liverpool.
Guehi could also run down his contract until 2026 if he does not get his preferred move, with Palace potentially eyeing Akanji as an experienced successor.
The 30-year-old has yet to play a single minute of football for Man City this term and was left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for Saturday’s 2-0 home loss to Tottenham amid uncertainty over his future at the Etihad Stadium.

According to Lianos, Palace have made an offer for Akanji reaching £15m, having identified him as a potential replacement for Guehi.
Akanji’s future is expected to remain a hot topic in the final days of the summer transfer window, with Turkish side Galatasaray also pushing for his arrival.
According to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano, the Super Lig giants have an agreement in place with Man City over a £15m deal but are yet to receive the green light from the player himself.
Akanji is also believed to be on the shortlist of Bayer Leverkusen, who are eyeing the two-time Premier League winner as a replacement for Piero Hincapie.
The Ecuadorian centre-back is pushing to depart Leverkusen in the final days of the summer window and has emerged as a late target for both Arsenal and Tottenham.
Akanji, who joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has made 136 appearances under Pep Guardiola to date, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
The £180,000-a-week defender helped City secure the treble in 2022/23 and has lifted seven major trophies in total during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
