The Leverkusen defender is seen as an ideal signing for manager Mikel Arteta, and Arsenal are now preparing an opening offer, likely to be a loan with an obligation to buy...

Hincapie, described as 'outstanding' by Breaking The Lines, is a left-sided centre-back, which, as Romano mentioned, could allow Jakub Kiwior to head to Porto. Adding another defender might not appear to be an immediate priority for the Gunners, but Arteta is clearly looking to build a deeper squad as they attempt to tackle multiple competitions this season.
