Girona star 'gives answer' to Wolves ahead of proposed £25.9m transfer

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly learned whether they will be finalising a deal for Girona defender Ladislav Krejci.

Vitor Pereira has witnessed his side succumb to defeats to Manchester City and Bournemouth in their opening two Premier League games of the season.

However, regardless of those outcomes, Wolves would have been active during the closing stages of the summer transfer window with their squad having been significantly weakened since last season.

Issues remain over completing the signing of Getafe attacker Christantus Uche, who was part of a team that overcame Sevilla in La Liga on Monday night.

Wolves have also been attempting to get a deal for Krejci over the line, even with the Czech Republic international starting for Girona against Villarreal over the weekend.

Wolves receive Krejci answer

Reports in recent days have indicated that Krejci had requested some time to determine whether he wished to complete a €30m (£25.89m) transfer to Molineux.

According to journalist Nil Sola and other outlets, who were commenting on X, the 26-year-old will be signing for Wolves over the next 24 to 48 hours.

Sola says that 'total agreements' are in place with all the relevant parties and Krejci has already said goodbye to his Girona teammates.

Krejci will now travel to England to undergo a medical with the view of finalising a move ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture against Everton.

Despite the indecision over finalising a switch to Wolves, the West Midlands outfit will be relieved to add another fresh face to their squad as they bid to avoid three successive defeats in the top flight.

Wolves still facing chaotic end to transfer window

Not only have Wolves got work on their hands in convincing Uche to have a change of heart over leaving Getafe, they are battling to retain the services of Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Although the official stance remains that the Norway international is not for sale, Newcastle United are allegedly planning to increase their already-rejected bid of £50m.

Wolves already require at least one new central defender or central-midfielder. Krejci can play both roles, yet it is unclear which will get priority in the Premier League.

Uche is also a versatile attacker, but Wolves will require a like-for-like replacement for Strand Larsen if they give the green light to a late sale.
