'Biggest worry…'Two'fantastic'stars stood out for all right reasons vs Fulham, former Man Utd star labelled one ace as'bad'

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves singled out three players for both the highs and lows from Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against Fulham.

Fulham rescued a Premier League point after poor Manchester United defending from Matthijs de Ligt allowed substitute Emile Smith Rowe to find the equaliser.

Emile Smith Rowe climbed off the bench and fired a first-time strike past Altay Bayindir after Alex Iwobi picked out the Fulham player with a dangerous cross.

United had broken the deadlock against Fulham on Sunday afternoon in the second half, with the Red Devils taking the lead thanks to a deflection from Rodrigo Muniz.

Leny Yoro’s header from a Bryan Mbeumo corner ricocheted off Rodrigo Muniz and Bernd Leno was unable to prevent United from going 1-0 up against Fulham.

United were left to rue their missed chances at Craven Cottage in the 1-1 Premier League result, including Bruno Fernandes blazing his penalty over the bar.

Owen Hargreaves highlights the pros and cons of three Man Utd players vs Fulham at Craven Cottage

Manchester United impressed during the first half of the Premier League match on the weekend, but the Red Devils allowed Fulham to climb back into the contest.

Matheus Cunha was deployed in the main solo attacking role and the former Wolves ace impressed, including hitting the Fulham post early in the 1-1 draw.

Owen Hargreaves admitted that he ‘loved’ seeing what summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo offered in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system for United.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former United and England midfielder also expressed his deep disappointment with the showing of Bruno Fernandes.

“I love Mbeumo, I love Cunha, Bruno had a bad game today, but my biggest worry is the goalkeeper situation isn’t addressed and the striker situation isn’t addressed,” Hargreaves said, as per the Metro.

“I have never seen a team win without top players in those two positions. Maybe they are going to address that in the next week.

“But [the] goalkeeper, striker, he has to address.”

Owen Hargreaves makes a clear-cut point about Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and Man Utd

Hargreaves waxed lyrical about the significance of United signing Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but the TNT Sports pundit feels the Red Devils need more players.

According to Hargreaves, the Red Devils “need to address” the issues that they face over the shot-stopper and the striker role amid the 2025-26 Premier League season.

“The two in behind in Mbeumo and Cunha are fantastic, but the one at the top and at the back, they need to address as soon as possible,” he continued.

“You look at the fixtures, Burnley at home, you expect to win, but City and Chelsea are really difficult.”

United will now face League Two outfit Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup at Blundell Park on Wednesday evening.
