On Monday, Corriere dello Sport reported Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey had agreed terms with Fiorentina.
The Italian club’s move for the Ghana international depended on youngster Nicolo Fortini, who is of interest to Empoli and Torino.
There was no suggestion of how much Brighton wanted for the Lamptey but more information has emerged about the defender. Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports La Viola have a meeting with Fortini’s agents today and once his exit is sorted out, they will move for Lamptey.
They claim that Brighton currently want €10m to sell their player, but Fiorentina believe that the asking price is too high.
La Nazione, relayed by FiorentinaNews, report something similar, but they believe there could be room for negotiation between the two clubs.
The Seagulls may settle for around €7m to €8m, as the 24-year-old’s current contract at Brighton runs out in the summer of 2026.
TuttoSport, relayed by FirenzeViola, have more and indicate that Fiorentina are prepared to play the waiting game in the hope Fabian Hurzeler’s side reduce their asking price in the last few days of the transfer window.
