“Why can’t I dream?” – Hearts player has big transfer plans for future

Hearts of Midlothian forward Cláudio Braga has told the Portuguese media he has dreams of playing in the Premier League in the future.

The 25-year-old signed for Derek McInnes’ side this summer and has impressed since his arrival in Edinburgh. Speaking to [O Jogo](https://www.ojogo.pt/), the Hearts player was asked if he has ambitions to play in another league.

Braga said he’d like to play in one of Europe’s top leagues, such as England or Portugal.

He believes to ever have any chance of breaking into the Portuguese national squad, which he’s aware is a long shot, he needs to be playing in a top European league and thinks this is achievable.

_“I have two: the Premier League and the Portuguese league, but in that case it was only in a specific club (laughs). In fact, I know that I would probably even have to achieve that dream first to be able to reach the national team. FC Porto went to get Deniz Gul from the Swedish championship, which in my opinion is worse than the Scottish one, so why can’t I dream,”_ said the Hearts player.

Signing from Swedish club Aalesunds FK last month, Braga has already made an impact since arriving at Tynecastle, becoming an instant favourite with the Hearts supporters.

The attacker has scored five goals in his first eight games, including two in the first three league games. He’s contracted to Hearts until June 2028.
