Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Barcelona star Marc Casado before the transfer deadline passes next Monday evening. Manager Unai Emery is eager to add to his squad before the opportunity to do so ends, having green lighted a host of departures this summer including first-team pair Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey.

The Lions have added Evan Guessand but, ahead of the club's adventure into the , new faces are desired. One such player could be Casado, 21, who is from Catalonia and a product of Barca's La Masia academy.

The midfielder is valued at being worth €30m by Barca, who reportedly see the opportunity to sell him as a viable one considering he has been produced by the club and they'd make a substantial profit - but Villa aren't the only ones interested, not even the only side from the West Midlands indeed.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have done business with Barca previously when signing Nelson Semedo, like Casado too, as well as French side Marseille. He is swapping agents to join the list of esteemed clients of Jorge Mendes from October, which could be an indicator of what the player's intentions are.

An employee of Barca told Spanish outlet : "It’s true that Marc doesn’t fit the stereotype of the modern footballer. We’ll see what decision he makes if he finds himself not playing a single minute until September."
