Nottingham Forest are reportedly pushing to sign a player from East Midlands rivals Leicester City before the end of the summer transfer window.
Despite starting the new Premier League campaign with four points from two games, much of the focus at the City Ground is on the future of Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Portuguese could leave Forest after a breakdown in his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis and sporting director Edu Gaspar, even though he has publicly stated that he wants to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
Nuno's public call for more signings has heavily contributed to the situation, most recently insisting that he requires at least one new full-back to be signed.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Forest are making an attempt to sign a player from one of their neighbours.

Romano says that "club to club talks" are being held between the respective hierarchies in an attempt to finalise a deal for Victor Kristiansen.
The Denmark international has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons contracted to the Foxes, making a total of 45 appearances in all competitions.
However, during that time, the left-back has spent a campaign on loan at Bologna, making 32 outings, where the Italian side earned a surprise qualification for the Champions League.
Upon returning to the King Power Stadium, the 22-year-old featured on 30 occasions during the Premier League relegation season and he is now available for transfer as Leicester attempt to cash in on high-valued players.
That has seemingly led to Forest trying to take advantage of the situation with competition required for the likes of Neco Williams and Ola Aina with left-back Harry Toffolo having left on a free transfer.
With Leicester having paid £17m for Kristiansen in January 2023 and three years remaining on his contract, they will realistically be looking to recoup a similar fee.

Nuno demands proving justified?
As it stands, it remains to be seen whether Forest are reacting to Nuno's demands or if they were always understanding of the need for at least one new full-back.
Nuno's calls for more players may have been down to a lack of patience more than anything else, and it appears that there remains ambition to complete a squad that can challenge for the Europa League as well as earn another top-seven Premier League finish.
Forest will learn of their Europa League opponents for the League Phase on Friday, Nuno likely to want some clarity over his future prior to that occasion and the Premier League fixture with West Ham United on Sunday.
