Exclusive: Andre Onana could leave Man Utd for Premier League club with intermediaries holding talks

It looks as though Manchester United are set for a busy final week of the summer transfer window, with several questions needing to be answered.

It didn’t look this way last week, with very little talk around Manchester United and further movement in the transfer window.

However, the start to the Premier League season hasn’t quite gone to plan, with United on one point after two games.

Following United’s 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday, United could be looking for a Kobbie Mainoo solution, with the midfielder rightly frustrated by his lack of minutes.

This might lead to midfield movement, while goalkeeper is the other position that the Red Devils are looking closely at.

Last week, United in Focus exclusively revealed Altay Bayindir was expected to depart the club, but with Amorim choosing the Turkey international over Andre Onana, the situation may have done a 180 degree turn.

Manchester United could loan Andre Onana out this summer

United are closing in on Senne Lammens, with the Belgian left out of Royal Antwerp’s squad at the weekend ahead of his transfer.

Adding a goalkeeper will mean one has to leave Old Trafford and now it appears Onana is looking most likely.

United in Focus understands via Graeme Bailey that intermediaries have held active talks with a number of clubs about a loan deal for Andre Onana and we can confirm one of those clubs is West Ham United.

West Ham have already signed Mads Hermansen but it is believed they are now considering alternatives and one of those could be Onana.

United in Focus also understands that Onana position on his future at United has changed in the last week – whilst he understood why he was not called up to face Arsenal, the decision to leave him out against Fulham was shocked him and a number of teammates.

With Ruben Amorim seemingly preferring Altay Bayindir, we now understand that Onana is actively considering his options and ready to leave – given United are progressing with their deal for Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.

Bailey then added that Lammens could be arriving as United’s first choice goalkeeper.

“Onana is now unhappy at this current situation and he is ready to look at options and West Ham could be one of those, but there are others.

“With Lammens coming in, we could be about to see a changing of the guard at United – Lammens was never really seen as coming straight in as number one, but it could play out in that way.”

Ruben Amorim and Manchester United have made goalkeeping situation clear

After Onana was initially expected to be sold this summer, it all went quiet after the goalkeeper got injured in the first week of pre-season training.

Onana stated his desire to remain at United and it seemed that was that, until Bayindir has clearly been made number one, which is a clear statement that Amorim has no time for his previous number one.

Bayindir hasn’t inspired confidence in his two starts, but this makes it easier for Amorim to make Lammens his starting shot stopper immediately.

Right now, we would assume Lammens will be United’s starting goalkeeper this coming season with Bayindir backing him up, while the race to get Onana out is now on.
