Everton and Brentford in mix for player after Manchester United exit

Victor Lindelöf left Manchester United at the end of last season after eight years at the club. He would have been expected to have found a club by now, but he’s still on the look out, with Everton, Brentford and Fiorentina now said to be options.

The Swede’s time at Old Trafford fizzled out due to injuries and a lack of consistent game time, as he failed to impress towards the end of his spell.

Alfredo Pedulla has reports Everton and Brentford are in the picture to sign Lindelöf.

Fiorentina are leading the way, however, and it’s they who have made an offer to the 31-year-old as they look to bolster their backline.

Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, report the former Manchester United player is being seen as a replacement for Pablo Mari, who is up for sale and has multiple offers from Brazil.

Whether Everton and Brentford have been thrown in to pressure Fiorentina is questionable. Lindelöf’s agents may well be in something of a hurry right now, given the player’s complete lack of group pre-season.
