The future of Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson could be one of the most compelling stories going into the final few days of the summer transfer window.
Nicolas Jackson, 24, is currently still at Chelsea, and he’s running out of time to find a new club.
Blues head coach Enzo Maresca confirmed that Jackson could leave Stamford Bridge, which is why he’s left him out of the matchday squads for the opening games of this season.
The Senegal international has been linked with numerous potential suitors this summer, but will he secure a move in the final week of the window? It is worth noting that Chelsea could let Jackson exit on loan if clubs include an obligation to buy clause.

Two sources claim Newcastle United have stepped up Nicolas Jackson interest
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed via Substack that Newcastle United are now stepping up their pursuit to sign Chelsea’s Jackson in the final stages of the summer window.
Apparently, he’s heard from ‘two sources’ that Eddie Howe’s side are ramping up their interest in the 24-year-old frontman as they try to bring him to St James’ Park.
Phillips adds that Bayern Munich have offered to sign Jackson on loan with an option to buy, but the Blues are demanding an obligation. Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery wants to reunite with Jackson after working with him at Villarreal. The Chelsea centre-forward is keen on the idea of joining German giants Bayern, but he would prefer Newcastle over Villa if he stays in England.
Jackson’s agent is pushing him to join Bayern or Newcastle, so let’s wait and see where he ends up.

It’s been claimed that Chelsea would reintegrate Jackson if he doesn’t move this summer. While it’s reassuring to hear he wouldn’t be frozen out completely, it would feel like a huge waste of time if he doesn’t find a new club.

Nicolas Jackson should pick Newcastle
If it’s down to Jackson, he should choose Newcastle in a heartbeat as his next club.
Even though the central striker divides opinion, we’re pretty confident he would thrive in the Magpies team with his pace, power and movement. Let’s not forget he’s scored 30 non-penalty goals in two seasons for the Blues, so he’s a lot better than many people claim.

Nicolas Jackson’s record for Chelsea across all competitions
Newcastle’s forward line could be even more electric on the counter-attack if they add Jackson to play with the likes of Anthony Elanga and Anthony Gordon.
If Newcastle had Jackson in their side during Monday night’s 3-2 Premier League defeat against Liverpool, the outcome may have been a little different.
