Just in: Fabrizio Romano says Crystal Palace in advanced talks to sign 'unique' star in £43m…

Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign Villarreal winger Yeremi Pino for a fee of around £43m, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Palace are in the market for new additions after they allowed Eberechi Eze to leave the club, joining fellow Premier League side Arsenal, despite Tottenham Hotspur pushing to secure his signature. The Eagles have received a significant sum of money to allow him to depart, but it's imperative they bring in an adequate replacement, considering how important Eze was to the club.

It's been a slow start to the summer transfer window for Palace, and with just a few days remaining before the market closes, the Eagles need to get a move on. Replacing Eze will undoubtedly be the most important move Palace can make before the window closes, as it could become a worrying situation if they struggle to get a deal over the line.

Reporting on X, Romano has confirmed that Crystal Palace are now in advanced talks to sign Pino from Villarreal, for a fee in the region of £43m. Negotiations are underway between the two clubs to get the deal done as soon as possible...

"Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign Yeremy Pino from Villarreal, exclusive story from last week confirmed. Negotiations underway between clubs to get the deal done asap, #CPFC pushing. Fee could be close to €50m."

Described as 'unique', Pino could be an ideal option for Palace as a replacement for Eberechi Eze. Although naturally a winger, the 22-year-old could feature in one of Oliver Glasner's attacking midfield slots, with their number 10s often drifting into wide areas where Pino likes to operate.

Not only do Palace need additions to help with their attempts to finish strongly in the Premier League, Glasner's side are also competing in the Europa Conference League, so they need to build a bigger squad to cope with the hectic fixture schedule.
