Andre Onana enquiry made to Man United as Ineos have chance to derail Man City plan

Andre Onana is yet to play a single minute of football for Manchester United this season and it seems as though his future is still up in the air.

Altay Bayindir has started both Premier League matches in goal for Manchester United so far, despite the Turkish shot-stopper facing criticism for Arsenal’s goal.

Ruben Amorim publicly defended Bayindir, but United’s transfer business suggests the Portuguese head coach is looking for a change.

Reports suggest United are in advanced talks for Senne Lammens, with the Royal Antwerp goalkeeper left out of their last match amid transfer speculation.

If Lammens is on his way to Manchester, Amorim’s goalkeeping department would be bloated and exits would be necessary. It seems Andre Onana could be the one to leave.

Man United receive Andre Onana transfer enquiry

Amorim declared that Onana is fit and available, but has been dropped from the starting XI in both of the Premier League games so far.

That doesn’t bode well for the Cameroon international, especially with Ineos pushing to sign Lammens before the summer deadline.

According to CaughtOffside, United have received a transfer enquiry from Turkish club Galatasaray regarding Onana.

Unlike United, Galatasaray can offer Onana Champions League football and regular game time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The Turkish transfer window stays open longer than the English market, so Galatasaray are in no rush to force through a deal, but they are showing interest in Onana.

Galatasaray want to hijack United’s Lammens deal, but the 23-year-old prefers a move to Manchester. With that in mind, Galatasaray could turn their attention to Onana.

Selling Andre Onana could derail Manchester City’s transfer plans

Galatasaray have been in the market for a new goalkeeper all summer, with Manchester City’s Ederson one of their top targets.

However, the Turkish club are now considering alternative targets such as Lammens and Onana. Given that United would be open to selling Onana, a deal could advance quickly.

United have been linked to Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer, but it seems Ineos would prefer to bring in Lammens. As a result, City are now being heavily linked with the PSG shot-stopper, but only if they can offload Ederson.

If United move quickly and strike an Onana sale with Galatasaray, City’s plans to offload Ederson and bring in Donnarumma would be dented.

Ineos would have secured their top-choice goalkeeper target, sold an unwanted player and at the same time ruined their rival’s plans. Top business.
