Harry Amass loan & more: Eight transfers Man United must complete before deadline day

Manchester United must accelerate their plans to complete multiple transfers with less than a week remaining in the transfer window.

The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Diego Leon and Benjamin Sesko this summer.

A few players are on the chopping block, and time is running out for them to find a new club.

Here we look at eight deals Man United must wrap up before deadline day.

1) Loan Harry Amass

The 18-year-old was left out of United’s pre-season tour with a loan exit already mapped out for this season.

Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon are set to battle for the left wing-back spot, with Diogo Dalot also capable of operating in that role.

Amass is one of the brightest prospects at United’s academy and deservedly made his senior debut under Ruben Amorim last season.

It is imperative for the club to send him on loan so that he can earn regular game time and refine his skills.

2) Sign a goalkeeper

Senne Lammens is expected to be the fifth addition to the senior United squad this summer.

The 23-year-old was left out of Antwerp’s matchday squad last weekend, with both clubs now ironing out the final details.

Personal terms between Lammens and United have already been verbally agreed.

His arrival does not necessarily mean that Andre Onana or Altay Bayindir will be forced to leave.

3) Sign a midfielder

It is no secret that Amorim wanted the club to sign an athletic midfielder.

The Red Devils even made an approach for Brighton & Hove Albion for Carlos Baleba.

The Seagulls were determined not to sell Baleba this summer, forcing United to halt their pursuit.

Casemiro no longer has the legs to dominate the engine room, while Manuel Ugarte offers bite but struggles with ball progression.

Landing a new midfielder could prove the difference between another underwhelming campaign and a solid top-four push.

4) Sell Antony

Antony wants to return to Real Betis after a successful six-month loan spell.

United value him at around £40 million, but Betis’ finances make a permanent deal difficult.

A loan with obligation-to-buy proposal is the most realistic route.

INEOS have to stick to their valuation as Antony could blossom into a fantastic attacker at Betis.

Selling him at a decent value will help United balance their books after spending around £200m this summer.

5) Sell Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho looks set to join Chelsea, though the deal could drag until deadline day.

United have already rejected two bids, with Chelsea hoping to force a discount late on.

The 21-year-old fell out with Amorim last season and does not have a future at Old Trafford.

INEOS must either secure a fair fee or freeze him out until January but compromise cannot be an option.

The Blues were tough negotiators two seasons ago when United wanted to sign Mason Mount.

It is time for United to reverse the roles.

6) Sell Jadon Sancho

Several clubs have made enquiries for Sancho, but the winger has yet to give the green light to a move.

Unlike Antony or Garnacho, who could still be reintegrated, Sancho’s United career appears beyond repair.

The England international is in the final year of his contract with the Red Devils.

United have a final chance to cash in on him and end this turbulent chapter.

7) Sell Tyrell Malacia

Malacia was the first signing of the Erik ten Hag era.

Many expected Malacia to battle with Luke Shaw for the starting left-back spot but poor form and injuries derailed his career.

A cut-price departure this summer now looks the most realistic outcome.

8) Sell Rasmus Hojlund

The arrival of Benjamin Sesko has forced Hojlund on the brink of United’s exit.

Amorim also has Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi as striking options, limiting the Dane’s opportunities.

After scoring only four league goals last season, his position was already under intense pressure.

Napoli look closest to securing his signature, as their main striker Romelu Lukaku suffered a muscle injury this month.

The Serie A giants are ready to pay a loan fee, with a conditional obligation to buy for around £40m.
