Cutdown day has gotten underway in Foxborough.
Jacobs, 26, played a team-high 139 offensive snaps during the 2025 preseason and was vying for a swing role behind starting tackles Will Campbell and Morgan Moses. The product of Grambling State and South Florida had been claimed off waivers following the league’s 53-man deadline last August. He proceeded to appear in 15 games over the course of 2024, including 13 starts between the bookend spots. Staying in for 79.3 percent of the downs, the workload ranked second on the offense by year’s end.
The Denver Broncos originally signed Jacobs as an undrafted free agent in 2023. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound tackle spent his rookie campaign on the AFC West practice squad.
Battle, 25, signed to New England’s practice squad last October and was promoted to the active roster ahead of January’s finale. His Week 18 NFL debut brought three pass deflections and two tackles. A total of 88 defensive snaps followed in August preseason action.
A 6-foot-3, 197-pound former transfer from Ole Miss to Utah, Battle entered the NFL as part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2024 undrafted class.
Head coach Mike Vrabel’s contingent entered Tuesday with an active roster of 76. The league’s deadline to reach 53 is set for 4 p.m. ET.
