West Ham have been in discussions with intermediaries representing Manchester United keeper Andre Onana, according to reports.
United In Focus say that “talks” have been held over a loan move for the Cameroon international, who expects to leave Old Trafford before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Onana is said to be “shocked” that Ruben Amorim favoured Altay Bayindir ahead of him for the 1-1 draw against Fulham at the weekend.

The 29-year-old had been sidelined with a hamstring injury, and he was not perturbed by his exclusion for the opening day fixture versus Arsenal for that reason.
However, Onana’s omission from the starting eleven for the match at Craven Cottage (and United’s pursuit of Senne Lammens) has forced him to consider his options.
Why do West Ham want another goalkeeper?
The Hammers have already signed one shot-stopper this summer, having spent around £20m to bring in Mads Hermansen from Leicester City.
However, the Dane has put in two very concerning displays against Sunderland and Chelsea, prompting Graham Potter’s side to look at ways to provide him with more competition.
United in Focus claim that Onana is one of the “alternatives” being explored ahead of deadline day next week.
Onana is unlikely to be a priority target
While talks may have taken place with the keeper’s agents, that doesn’t necessarily mean that West Ham will firm up their interest.
At the moment, other positions are considered the top priority – specifically midfield. The Irons are hoping to bring in at least two midfielders before the transfer window shuts.
After conceding 8 goals in their first two games, you would think that strengthening the defence would be on the agenda too, but limited funds will restrict what the club can do between now and Monday night.
