The Buffalo Bills have started the process of trimming their active roster to 53 players.
The deadline for all 32 NFL teams to do so is 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Buffalo News will track those reported cuts all day here.
Among the first moves is a report Tuesday morning from ESPN that veteran cornerback Dane Jackson will be released. As a veteran with four-plus years of NFL experience, Jackson does not need to clear waivers and immediately becomes a free agent. If another team does not show interest in signing him to its 53-man roster, a return to the Bills' practice squad could make sense for both sides.
